All normal in otaku town, as long as the character is fictional. For Irie, he acts like a pedophile because the idea of, "Wouldn't it be funny if the upstanding doctor were also a huge lolicon lololol" is still a safe, expected avenue for humor in otaku culture (I really want to stress that this is an "otaku culture" and not a "Japanese culture" thing, although the general culture being so far behind the curve on sexual protection of minors is part of what allowed this to settle in among otaku), without a thought as to all of the genuinely harmful real-world dismissal of predation that encourages.
